I’m finally back at the drawing table, I’m working on my latest drawing of @emanuele_dascanio - 11 x 14 graphite pencil on Bristol Smooth paper. For pencils I’m using Pentel GraphGear 1000 0.5mm mechanical pencils with 4H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B, and 4B leads. For the skin tones, I’m layering my graphite by making tiny overlapping circular motions (I like to call Corbett Circles). I work light to dark, slowly building up the tone until I get a nice balance of light, mid-tones, and darks. I first try to achieve my values and then start to add detail - or fix what I broke .
